Wounding Policy

Here, at DAWG Ranch, we consider all forms of life to be of value—to be honored, respected, and treasured for the precious gift that it is from our Creator. Whether the life is that of an unborn child, or wildlife residing on properties we are so graciously blessed to have the opportunities to hunt. All life has a purpose, meaning, and importance and will be given the honor and integrity so due. On behalf of the client and our staff, every effort will be made to make certain our activities adhere to the moral and ethical conduct of what is expected from the hunting and non-hunting communities.

With that said, at which point a firearm is discharged, and the animal is assumed to have been hit (based on the discretionary judgment of the guide), the hunt is concluded. Unless confirmation can be proven otherwise (i.e. a clean miss), again based on the discretionary judgment of the guide, then the hunt will continue.

When presented with evidence where an injury has occurred, hunt balance will be due, regardless if the animal can be located and recovered. Considering the aforementioned disclosure, relative to the importance of life, all resources available, until deemed an exercise in futility, will be utilized to ensure the successful recovery of the client’s animal. The taking of a life is a serious and important responsibility, as hunting is an honor, and privilege, not to be taken for granted, and will be regarded as such, with honor and dignity for the animals we pursue.
